alright...i have this new 24g A.P. that has been cycling for about a week...when the cycling process ends and when i begine to do the partial water changes in the future do i ever have to completely rinse and clean out the sponge...i heard that if i do completely clean out the sponge i could kill a whole lot of the nitrifying bacteria and have a ammonia spike(True/False?)...but i wouldn't want the spone to get completely clogged up...if true what should i do?

Get rid of the sponge, it's gonna be a nitrate factory for your reef tank.
