suicidal wrasses

I had a mccoster's wrasse and know they jump so got an egg crate on top to screen it in. Sadly he committed suicide. Do i need like a glass top? I was going to buy a pink streaked wrasse but dont want it to die on me. Would you think an egg crate top should be good enough?

Egg crate is useless for most fairy/flasher wrasses...need 1/4" netting

that was quick. Thanks. I bought netting from brs but with my light etc not able to cut it to the specification. Oh well no more wrasses until I upgrade my tank.
