Hi
Im new to reefkeeping. 33 gallon breeder. All cycled. Added a pair of true percula balinese clowns. Half dozen each nassarius snails and hermit crabs. So far so good. Fish eat the brine shrimp. Snails and crabs are cleaning up. I also fragged a piece of gsp in two. They popped out by the morning

Now i need advice about water changes. :is it time for the first one?

How frequent and how much water.

Thanks

Evan

A first water change is usually done right after the cycle completes to bring down nitrates. As far as water changes for maintenance there are many different varying factors as to how much and how often. But on average I would say between 10-25 percent water volume every week or 2. The more often you do one the less water you will have to change.

brine shrimp arent great food (maybe try mysis?) and you might need to feed algae wafers to the critters until your tank matures so the crabs dont take out the snails.
