My new lionfish has lost some of its ("skin"? /coloring) over its top spines is this due to a sickness,or is it normal? What can I do. Its medium size in a 92G water is ok, feeding every third day and eating well. Thanks Joe

No picture but I can give more detail. About one inch of the upper part of the spines I guess they are called is almost clear in color or white. The rest being red/brown stripped. Also I guess tryed feeding and for the first time food was turned down. Also seems to be moving much faster than normal mostly on one side of tank. ....? Help

No, my lion fish isn't being harassed. Its the biggest fish I have in the tank. I'm feeding frozen shrimp and silver sides frozen, about every 3 days. When I recently got the fish a week ago it had two white tips at the ends, however, now it has more.

Food sounds ok

I don't under stand the the white tips part

are you saying that the fins are turning white? or disapearing?, or are they just losing thier color?

Sorry, I am not understanding

Are you sure the fins didn't get longer, and the new part is white? I have never heard of something like that.

Mine had fins that went to the end of the spines when I got his, after a while they started growing, and after six months they were a couple of inches longer than the spines.

other than that, someone else is gonna have to help you, cause I am out of ideas.

Btw my lion went back and forth constantly on one side of the tank whenever he wasn't chasing a fish in the tank
