Live Rock Set Up / Design ???

Does anyone know where you can learn the basics of Live Rock setup/design in your tank??? Is there a known website ??? I know it's part matter of preference but I would think there is a basic guideline.. I could be wrong... any advice out there???

good rock work depends on the type of setup. In general, you want a stable structure that does not tumble when a tang pull on a seaweed on the bottom, for example. Other general guideline is to make sure the rockwork does not prevent the pump from doing a good job in circulation. It also enable you to retrieve object that fall between the rockwork without taking the whole tank apart.

The new Calfo/Fenner book has a section that discusses the pros/cons of different aquascaping. I'm sure there are other books that do also, but that's the one that comes to mind first. The book is well worth the money IMO.

It is from "golden ratio," a concept in ancient greek that was considered the most pleasing ratio.

A golden triangle has the hypotenuse and base length in the ratio of

1/(r-1)=r

solve for r and you get

r = (1+sqrt(5))/2

or roughly

 r = 1.618034
