i had, the same problem, and i am finally getting the upperhand on it. heard it was called "green water syndrom"it is a natural process for many new tanks, fom what i've heard. i couldn't see through the glass 2 days after scrubbing it off. it should go away on its own...eventually.
what type of filtration are you using? i had a emperor 400 w/ biowheel, and it was leaving me with too high a nitrate level. i took out the wheels as well as the filter media. my nitrates are down, and my ammonia level has not gone up one bit, and this is several weeks later. nitrate and phos levels, so i have been told, dictate such an occurance.
additionally, i am doing water changes more often, approx 2.5 gallons a week for my 20 gallon. my water has never been clearer, and my corraline is starting to finally grow.
