you will need to excuse me if this is a previously asked question, but i have been unable to locate the thread...
i purchased a really neato feather duster earlier today, and i was wondering what was the best way to place it in my tank. after several attempts, he was kinda getting flopped over by the current, but now i have placed him against some liverock near the front left corner of my tank. the current is not so strong there.
my real question is- will he ever attach himself permanently to the liverock, or bury his tail appendage (for lack of a better word) in the substrate for better "locked into place" security?
thank you in advance.

1414,

i had to place a smaller LR on top of my feather dusters until they attached themselves to the rock. if they don't like where you put them, then they could drop their feathers and relocate. a lite current is good so they can filter the food.

good luck,

ricky,

Feather dusters require a light to moderate current or else they will drop there corwn and try and relocate, which is very dangerous. However, too strong a current is not good and will cause them to relocate, too. TRy and wedge there tube between the rock, or stand it up. Make sure it is satble, as you don't wnat it falling on the ground. They will eventually attach their tubes to the rock, and it usually happens within a few days, latest a week. :D
