Nilsen <=> kalkreactor. If properly setup, it does not affect fish and coral other than keep the Ca level up. Basically, it automatically mix and dispense kalkwassor for you.
The Calcium reactor works by recirculating tank water through a chamber with calcareous media. The pH in the media chamber is lowered by injecting CO2 gas to dissolved the media into the effluent water returning to the tank.
The Nilsen reactor basically mixes/dissolves kalkwasser powder into freshwater that is being pumped into the unit. The saturated kalkwasser effluent is then dosed to your tank. Basically, you put this reactor in-line with a dosing system that feeds freshwater (top-off) drawn from a reservoir through the reactor and into your tank.
