I have 36 pounds of sea flor, 20 pound of CaribSea Arag-Alive SP. Grade and 30 LBS of CaribSea Aragamax available to me at a real cheap price, in the bags still. THis is going in a 40 gal breeder tank 36x16x18, I have about 4.5 sq feet of floor space in the tank.
I want to keep cukes and other burrowing animals as part of the tank. I plan on seeding it with either some grunge or another detrivore type kit to get some worms and the like in there. SHould the sand be of uniform grade, and do you think that mixed grades will prevent from clumping? I understand that the lower sized grains will eventually settle, but if I have enough critters stirring things, then theoretically, it shouldn't happen.
I figure the reef itself isn't uniform, so the sand bed shouldn't be uniform either.
