How do you remove algae from your coral ?

I have a Orange M. Digitada which is doing well except for one arm where the algae has taken hold. The effected area was a new growth area.

What is the best way to remove it? Should the algae be scraped off? It is getting worse so I think that I need to take action. Photo attached .

You could just snap off the problem tip and let it rencrust. M. digitata is generally pretty frail...
