Dosing Kalkwasser

Hi! I'm a newbie to SW. I just started dosing kalkwasser one drop per second as recomended. This morning I found one of my cleaner shrimp and a copperband butterfly dead. Are these deaths related to the dosing? Any suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

With out more information it wiould be hard to determin if the two are related. Some more information would better hel people give and educated guess. Tank parameter and age would be a good start. Other critters and anything that could influence the system would also help.

I agree with Wazzel - too little information to really offer much insight. The only thing I'm aware of that kalkwasser dosing could do that might be stressful to your animals is raising pH too much if it's dosed too quickly. IME you'd have to raise pH a LOT, very quickly, for it to be lethal to fish. Inverts seem to be more sensitive to pH swings though...

I think I've found the culprit. My banded coral shrimp were chasing and trying to attack my second cleaner shrimp last nite, and this morning my second cleaner shrimp was dead. Thank you all for the replies.

Any ideas on why you lost the CB?

No. Still curious about that. All my other fish are doing fine. I just got the CB for only 2 days.
