I have the same problem.
Tank is 4 months old. Colt and Toadstool look great, star pollips and Zoos spreading like crazy, no animal deaths of anykind. "Easy" mushrooms detach from rock & will not reattach, also very rarely seem to fully expand during day.
My water test are also fine.

Too much light? Don't mushrooms do better in shady areas under ledges? I don't know, don't have any corals as of yet, but I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

I had a group that shriveled up for several weeks, and just recently have begun opening up and looking good again.
Try talking to them... raise their self esteem

I haven't had any problems with too much light as I have a nice colony right on top of my live rock (125gl) but I did run into a problem w/ them shriveling (sp?) up when they were in a current.
