Read the articles in Advanced Aquarist Online. I fear that your parasites have only just dropped off the fish, and will reappear after reproducing in the substrate.

Raising the temp of the water will increase metaabolism, and the ich will actually reproduce fastr. to make this effectively work, you must also lower the salinity. The whole treetment is called hyposalinity, and it is an effective atural ick remedy.

If I recall his other posting, he's also got some inverts in the tank, so a sufficient hyposalinity to kill the Cryptocarion would likely also do in the inverts...

Edit added: It is also possible that with good water maintenance practices, your fish could develop some immunity, so that the infection does not recur when the parasites hatch from the substrate.
