The setup:
55gal, 50 lbs live rock, wet dry filter, skimmer (not the best but it works ok)

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Salinity: 1.026

All the parameters are in good shape. The tank has been up and running for a little over two months. I have a false percula, arrow crab, and the clown gobie...snails and hermits as well

I put the gobie in 5 days ago with the 50%, 50%, 50% method and he was doing really well. He doesnt hang out in the rocks which I think is weird but swims around with the clownfish side by side a lot of the time.

Yesterday, I noticed that it lookied like his skin was peeling. He doesn't have white spots but it looks almost like he is shedding skin. He's not breathing heavy and everything else in the tank is doing very well. I was thinking that it could be the salinity and was wondering if I should try and slowly lower over the next few days.

Thanks for your help

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT lower the salinity in a tank with inverts.

Watch him closely, and if he's not doing well, put him in that quarantine he should have gone into first. Especially watch for heavy breathing and glancing.
