Ok so when I got up this morning, I did the usual with the tank, lights-feeding but I only did a quick look around the tank (I usually give a good look at everything) now when I got home from work I noticed there was a Blue damsel missing (unfortunatly not the mean one) so I started searching the tank off and on for the next few hours. Now I happened to look into one of my powerheads and saw something in it, so I shut it down and pulled out the remains of the fish. Now the question is the remains looked like mostly bones and a sort of white mush. I do have 2 Petco Anenomes in the tank one that I haven't been able to feed in a couple weeks (been behind the rocks) dose this sound like the leftovers from one? Do they leave some of the fish like that or is the powerhead the culprit and if so wouldn't I get a rise in my ammo? All my tests came back normal for the water conditions.

thanks

hard to say ... when the fish starts to decompose, building gases in the little corpse body cause it to become more bouyant. it could have just gotten stuck on/in the pump after dying ... I've seen that happen before many times.

Have you tested the water, etc?

A Petco anemone is either a Condy and/or a dead anemone as he will most likely find out soon. Ok......I believe that the fish just got sucked into the power head. Thats it..... unless Monk can find evidence to the contrary. He most likely would guess that this is your first tank and only up for about 2-4 weeks. Am I correct?

first tank - yes
2-4 weeks - no a little longer - 5 months

Now not that I even care about this anemone, my wife brought home 2 because they were 3 bucks each (privlages to add things to the tank were then revoked) they have been in there for almost 3 month. Are they going to cause a problem or do they just die eventually? I have no problem taking them out and sending them where ever

if you don't want them see if your LFS will give you credit for them. all of the ones near me do that (usually they say for livestock only ... u have to spend the credit on more fish, lol, yay!)

 Welcome to the world of revoking wife bying privlages! I have revoked my wifes too, however you will have to do this time and time again!

Did you say you manually turn on your lights in so many words? Timers are a great thing and cheap too! Like what was said it is hard to say if the PH sucked the fish up or it was dead and floated there. Do you have guards on your PH?

No kidding! My wife took me to the LFS for lunch today with the intention of buying one sponge and she spent $130 on all kinds of crap. 8O

You mention that the dead damsel isn't "the mean one". I would suspect from this comment that the fish has been bullied and harrassed to such a weakened state that it was drawn up into the powerhead.
