nov 2 iset up my 58gal reef, slowly ihave brought it to these levels and maintained them,amm.0

using moonlite with4@65watt
hob skimmer

now i have redslime trying to cover my live rock and small clear bubbles spredding, what should i do?

What ype of water are you using? RO/DI? What type of skimmer do you have? and what are you using for water movement in the tank?

Its not unusual for nasty algae to occur in the first few months. But as mantioned above, high water movement, good skimming and using RO water to make up for evap is key to getting rid of it.

Hey....when ya get that nasty poopy lookin algae post pics so everyone can see it. Don't worry it will go away. The more pics of this we can show each other the better off we are. You will not believe how many questions are asked about this stuff. Oh Yeh.....and I would stay away from the Sump Forum for a while till ya get to know us better. Its kind of "hot" in there right now. Welcome to the site. I have been to many places but this is the best.

Here is mine :oops:

I vacuumed the substrate while doing a water change. Everywhere the vacuume hit, is covered with this crap. The rest is clean and white. Won't do that again.

The tank is 2 years old.
