I've been searching for months for a cheap metal halide setup online. Yesterday morning I came across this website.. www.1000bulbs.com If I am reading all this right, it looks like I can get a super cheap 2x250w setup for my 75g. To be specific, $128! Could somebody with more experience than me take a look and tell me if this is as good a deal as it looks like? I would sure appreciate it. Thanks!!

Description: MH250/U/CL/MOG Sylvania Brand
250 Watts, BT-28 Sylvania Brand Metal Halide, E39 Mogul Base, Length 8.31", Diameter 3.50", Kelvin 4200, CRI 65, ANSI M58/E, Universal Burn Position, Average Life Hours 10,000, Approximate Initial Lumens 22,000, Approximate Mean Lumens 17,000, Case Quantity 6, Price Is Per Each Bulb, No Minimum Order.

Catalog Code: MH/02501

Kelvin is 4200 degrees - most common bulbs I've researched for use with reef setups is at least 6500 K and more commonly 10,000 K.

I don't think 4200 is going to provide the correct photosynthetic spectrum.

I've been to that site many times over the last year.. - You can most likely get away with it, but bulbs do give different results with different ballasts....
