Been reading alot about DSB vs BB, and I think I am going to go with almost BB. I have a 75 gallon tank and thinking of going with 1/2" to a 1" of substrate. I have some CaribSea aragonite reef sand, size is 1-2mm dia. can I use this or sould I use sand? I have used this stuff before in a African Cichlid tank and was able to vaccum with my pyhton. I'm worried with sand that I won't be able to vaccum it up without losing most of it turning water changes. What do guys think?

The rest of my setup will consist of a 29 gallon sump with a Euro-Reef ES5-3 and a Lifereef overflow, Coralife double aqualight (2) 65 watt Actinic and (2) 65 watt 10000k bulbs. I have about 5ft from sump to top of tank, not sure which in sump pump to use yet. Any suggestion would be greatly apprecitated. These are just the main items I'm thinking of getting. Thanks

Either would be fine. With that shallow a sand bed, it won't be hard to clean if necessary, and when worms etc. get in there, will stay relatively clean. Also makes for a nicer look than the straight BB does IMHO.
