Seems to be doing well since I've only had him in for a little over 24hrs. I'm currently running 4x65w pc's over a 55 gal tank. He looks like he's doing fine on the bottom though. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Sorry for the dirty glass (i've been lazy so far today) :)

Nice looking speciman ya got there. My very 1st coral was a colt. Very "low maintenance" coral if you ask me...doesn't require a lot of light, not a lot of current like other corals and I never had to directly feed it like I do my Sun Coral. A good beginner's speciman if you ask me...:)

Is it normal for them to shrink up throughout the day? He was open for the first part of the day and then shrunk up later on and then returns to normal again. Is this just because he's acclimating? Thanks!

Yeah, they'll do that from time to time. I wouldn't worry about it.

I had a colt as one of my first corals back when I was into softies. They can be tempermental about water conditions. They get really big to. Some folks know how to cut them and mount the cuttings on new rocks and sell or trade. Just something to think about.

We recognize that kind of mess, don't we, gang? New tank owner syndrome, if I ever saw it.. it's the oldest one in the BOOK! <said like Maxwell Smart>

Great colt and nive rainford's goby in the back ground.

Next time clean off that salt drip before taking the picture!

I have to wipe the glass every time I look at it...I like it to be so clean I don't know it's there unless snails are on it. :?

Nice colt. Don't worry about the dirty glass. Mine is full of hand prints from my kids.
