Been reading up on what invertabrate likes what kind of current. I have a seventy gallon tank with a emperor 400, will put a protein skimmer in the near future. this leaves the question how many or what size power head should I put? :? If I use two should I put them in opposite directions to cause ocean like situation? Talk to me about current and feeding invertabrates.

Thanks for your time

Well first of all do you have a sump setup with a return pump? I like to place my power heads pointing to the front of the tank this creates agitated water current. I would recommend a couple maxijet 1200s. As far as feeding inverts most people who do this prefer DTs phytoplankton.

here's how i have my 50:

penguin 400 with no media or wheels for surface agitation/water movement

rt hand side power head 440 gph pushes from corner across LR

lt hand powerhead circulates back of tank for no dead spots, approx 250 gph.

heres a paintshop quickie
