Howdy

Will start to incorperate invertabrates and or coral in the next few weeks. What is up with the aggressive semi-agressive, additude thing. Looked at some packages that have both together. Will aggressive corrals kill fish? Does aggressive mean to keep them away from other coral?

Aggressive corals will sting other corals..more than likely wont kill fish or shrimp/crabs...so yes you want to keep space between corals anyways as a general rule of thumb...corals like to war with eachother..if you get soft corals, thats where the chemical warfare comes into play so have a good skimmer... Yes, softies like leathers and mushrooms will put off chemicals that are most harmful to SPS corals

It really depends on the context. I assume they mean if the coral comes into contact with other corals the winner is labeled aggressive, and particulalry if it spreads quickly. I would call regular old mushrooms to be the most aggressive, and don't belong with sps. Some LPS corals can put out sweeper tentacles that can be pretty bad. I keep leathers with sps myself, but plenty of people think that's wrong.

Ibid those previous quotes; I have a pineapple brain and a hammer coral that give off sweeper tentacles at night that can range from 4-6 inches in length, and these are very aggressive corals, leathers do give off chemica toxins but with sufficient PS I never have had a problem with mixing leathers and LPS corals. I have limited SPS in my tank, and probably would agree that SPS colonies are best left separately unless you keep a few, and they ususally have to be placed far away from other corals.

LPS corals can be nasty, but mushrooms are even worse.
You could always just have a bunch of clams, they aren't aggressive at all :)
