How often should I feed my fish? I see people feeding their fish twice a day and others only feeding their fish once every 2-3 days. I have decent algae growth. I am thinking maybe 4 times per week to keep the nitrates down. I currently have 4 fish and very few corals in a 125 gal tank. Is this too little feedings or is this ok since the fish have algae to graze on.

It depends alot on the species being kept. Certain fishes, like the anthias, need more regular feedings to stay healthy. Daily is a good place to start, but in our captive/mostly stress-free aquaria, overfeeding should be avoided. Keep an eye on the fish themselves... tangs and other herbivores need fed more often as they have very short digestive tracts and process food much faster (and much less thoroughly!).

I typically feed my fish 4-6 times per week and also throw in nori for the tang and rabbitfish irregularly to keep them fed.

What I mean by watching the fish is you should keep an eye on their bellies and just behind the eyes. Those areas should stay fairly well fat. If you see pinching, they need more food. Also, if you see any odd diseases or lateral line erosion, you likely need to feed more/better foods.

i feed once a day or try to at least. i agree with wade, some fish require more feeding then others so it is hard to say. to reduce algae, there is other things you can do that are better then cutting back feeding, like more water changes, using ro/di, better skimmer, and carbon. if the tank is new algae is normal and mine is going away on its own slowly :D

What would be good food to feed two clowns and one green chromis? I have flake frenzy and frozen brine shrimp. I feed dried bloodworms every once in a while but they dont seem to like them very much. I don't feel that sea monkeys and flakes are a very complete and/or satisfying diet.
Also, I have too many hermits and snails. What should I put in for them? I put in shrimp pellets, but they all idiotically fight over one of them and leave the rest for the shrimps to take and hide.

Flakes can be very well forumated and nutritious, but sometimes fish won't eat it. Bring shrimp is not nutritious at all, like candy for fish. There is some good recipes in our library. I feed my fish frozen cubes of Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef. My fish love the stuff.

I feed a varied amount each day. I even skip days. Watch your fish closely a feeding times and watch your water chemistry.I have some fis that will eat everything I give them and then the next day they are not as interested. You must watch the feeding behavior of your fish.

We use the frozen mix...has squid (for our hermits), mysis, brine, and something else
For our hermits, every 2-3 days we'll add a few small pieces of the squid really close to the hermits...they're in heaven :) We also add small pieces of seaweed which we place under a small piece of LR in the tank to keep it from floating away. The crabbies treat it as a buffet :)
