We have been happy reef hobbiist for about a year now. We have done everything by the book and nothing has surprised us - until about two weeks ago, when our anemone split into two anemones.

I moved the new anemone about four days later to a spot 10 or so inches away from the original. Within an hour, the original anemone (who had never moved), started moving as if it was looking for the other anemone. It has only moved a few inches in two weeks, but it also looks unhealthy. Now, it seems to be healing itself and eating a little better, but it is still moving.

Please tell if this is normal, or if I should do something new or different.

Yes it is normal..BTA's will move about the tank..and the splitting is a good sign of a healthy anemone..so you are doing things right.. :D

Congrats on the split. It's normal for them to wander a bit so I recommend you leave them alone and let them find their own spots. A lot of times, clones tend to cluster up to form a "colony" of anemones. I've seen huge stands of BTAs in the wild that look like one giant anemone :)
