lighting info

can anyone give me some info on lighting??????? i really want a clam, clownfish, an anemonme, bleenies, tang and other fish and i want to get the lighting to suit them all at once. ne info is great tanx :wink:

Lighting is one of the most confusing topics to new hobbyists, I believe. There's so many types and subtypes, so many opinions, and so much scattered literature. I'll try to keep it simple based on my experience. The one piece of info that we need is the size of your tank

well a clam he wants Len...so first im gonna say Metal Halide lighting...on the other hand, Len is right...size of tank...you know with a tang the suggested size tank minimum is gonig to be 75usgal..I made some mistakes when i started out, some due to my impatientness, some due to miss guiding info...but do a lot of research before purchasing your dry goods and your livestock..just some food for thought...

IMO metal halide if you want a happy clam,however the depth of your tank and the selection of corals you wish to keep will be the 2 most important factors in choosing your lighting.Read,ask question's,then decide,than change your mind again and wait a little then :lol: pray about it,then buy your light!
