recently posted in coral propagation section but maybe better in here.
i recently bought a keather coral from a friend it was doing really well in his tank. now i placed it in my tank it has expanded to full size but the tentacles dont really come out.

1 is this normal been in tank about 5 days now?
2 how much lighting and water movement do they like.

dont know which leather it is but best description i can give is: 14" across pale green/brown in colour and resembles a cabbage leaf. whenit is ok covers itself in tentacles.
looks healthy apart from no tentacles.

also have mushrooms, elephants ear, sun coral and xenia all doing really well.

Sometimes leather corals take a while to warm up after a move.
If your water params are really okay (meaning ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and phospates are not detectable), then check your pH, and your temperature.
Best thing to do is find out how much water motion and light the mother colony receives, and copy that scenario.
Good luck.

Yeah it sounds pretty normal for them to do this after a move. I have moved mine a couple of times and it can take up to a week for them to go back to normal. Give them some water flow and light.

fans blowing across the top of the water will help if you need more temp control.
