AquaC EV120 not pulling foam

I have a AquaC EV120 being fed from my sump by a Mag5.. I have not gotten it to produce any foam.. I have have 4 fish in the reef, recently added a good amount of coral and 2 anenomes...
Any idea whats up? :roll:

Did you check all the simple stuff? Venturi not clogged, amount of air being injected either too much/little, internal water level in relation to collection cup.

AquaC does not use true venturi, but there is an access hole on the injector thing that you may need to clean if there is not much bubble in the reaction chamber.... take a look with a flash light on the other side of the skimmer...

My EV120 air intake has a valve. Make sure that it is fully open/not cloged and see if that helps.

If it's new (less then 2 weeks old), it may not produce any skimmate in the collection cup. Skimmers take time to break in.

Make sure the water level in the skimmer is below the recommended line. If it's above a certain level, the spray injection does not spray, hence making zero bubbles

AquaC says to have the water level at the first interior platform which is around 8" up.. I have tried so many different methods with the sir value.. all I see is bubbles inside the unit being sprayed in from the water intake... no foam is produced...

How long has this been in the tank? Mine required 3 weeks to produce foam, then it immediately went into overdrive. Don't mess with the settings, leave the water outlet and air intake flow valves at their most open position, then don't mess with it at all, it will require time to start foaming. I have run mine at all different levels of water in the sump, doesn't make an appreciable difference on the amount of foam produced, it's always the same at any level.

Also remember, any time you stick your hands in the tank, add an additive, feed your fish, or mess with the water in any way; the skimmer will respond by not producing foam for a short time.

Really? Okay..
I have the water outlet valve opened enough to keep the water level 1/2" below the base as the instructions say... should I open it all the way or leave it?
I stick my hand in the tank all the time trying to get my corals situated perfectly.. heh

GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF THE TANK


Ok, now I would open both all the way. Then leave them there. Don't expect much foam for a few weeks, this is NORMAL. DON'T MESS WITH THE SKIMMER's SETTINGS DURING THIS TIME.

Remember, most successful reef tanks do not have their corals continually relocated, they don't tend to like it much.

Okay.. there gonna stay put now.. will the corals evenually attach to the surrounding live rock?
