I am running a 46gal bowfront FOWLR. I purchased the AquaC Remora skimmer witt the maxijet 1200 and skimmer box. My current heater is a Ebojager 200w that I am not happy with. Also was using a Magnum 350 canister that I just removed. I believe it has been contributing to my temps creeping up. I am replacing the heater with a Visi-therm 200w. Since the Visi-therm is much shorter, I wonder if it would be possible to hide it in the Remora without messing up its skimming? That would be one less eyesore in the tank!

Sure, you can put it in the outflow chamber. I've done it and I know people who do it with no problems.

You have to thread the heater powercord out of the outlet opening on the skimmer - just make sure you do in such a way that water can't follow the cord and cause dripping. You can drape the cord over the side or the back of the unit and use something to hold it in-place.
