test kits

how big of a difference is there between salt water test kits and the ones that can be used for both salt and fresh? The first kits I bought were the strips that you dip in the water and were for both fresh and salt the 2nd ones I bought were the drops and was also for both. There were some tests that were close and some that was a good amount off. What is recomended for test kits and do they give a better reading then these (they go in incriments like 0 - .25 - .5 - 3.0 - 6.0 ) is that fine or are there other ones that give a better reading?

one is a 5 in one and one is an ammonia for the test strips and the drop kits are ammonia and nitrite

I see. Well, FWIW, I use the Salifert Test Kits because of its reputation. Is your a Red Sea Test Kit?

Sorry but what is FWIW?

The 2 dip stick kits are by Jungle and the other 2 are by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals INC

I was going to get the redsea kits but the kid at the LFS said they are the same just more money

Yup Salifert is the only test kits I use. Never had a problwm with them and very accuarte. IMHO (hehehe had to stick that one in there too)FWIW
