Ok #1, I have 3 dead snails... Can I keep their shells? How do I take the snails out?

#2... One of my snails likes to go all the way up the tank and stay out of water? Is that normal? This is the first time I see a snail stay out of water?

Thanks!

I have a couple of snails that like to stay up above the surface, probably because there is a lot of nice grime to eat there.

Any snails that have died in my tank I have left in there, along with hermit crabs that got killed in fights over shells. As long as we aren't talking about leaving like a huge Conch in there to rot I don't think its a problem.

The 3 that are dead are pretty small snails... So it's ok to leave them in there... I wanted to keep their shells to avoid my hermits attaking my sanils... But I guess I can just leave them in... Food for my hermits!
