Can I run my overflow bulkhead directly to a pump for a closed loop. If so, can I still use a Durso stand pipe, or do I have to pull directly out of the bottom of my overflow box?

I tried using the water from my overflow.

I was (the close loop is down until I buy a another pump) using a sump and a closed loop system. I found that my overflow could not support the close loop and my sump.

Also, if I turned off my sump pump and not the close loop pump to do maintenace, the feed to the close loop would dry up 8O as the water in the overflow found its way into the sump. You may find a way around this; but, I did what this guy did.

The problem with using a Durso stand pipe is the introduction of air, which results in lots of bubbles in the tank. The air is also hard on you pump.

OK, I'll let the overflows feed my sump/fuge and just drill more holes for a couple of closed loops!
