I think my tank has been cycling for like 4 months now. Anyways, it started out wiht a buncha brown algae - then moved to a buncha green algae - then it grew really long hair - then when i thought it was done - it grew red supr long hair algae!

Is it going to ever stop? is there a new algae comming next? I use RO/DI water and have a CPU BAK PAK skimmer.

what should i expect?

The tank is cycled and the tank is going through it's normal round of algaes. I wish I could tell you when it's going to finally subside, but it's not possible.

If your tank is above 60 gallons, it might be a good time to add a Zebrasoma tang like a Yellow Tang. These will control the algaes you're currently experiencing.

Imagine this: some people luck out and never go through algae phases at all 8O Ya, I hate them too ;)

Ahh!, but in a live rock live sand setup new critters emerge to take advantage of the new nutrients. That's all part of the fun and excitement of a new tank. :)
