I checked my levels the same day that my fish died and apparently there was a spike sometime during the week before. I had made sure everything was fine before adding the clown.... Maybe i was adding to much food in an effort to make sure he was eating...

Sorry to hear that. It could be you added too much food, or something massive happened to have died off that week (sponge, tunicate, clam, etc.)
