ok... i recently bought a wave maker for my 36x24x24 90g with the ability to control 3 power heads and a main return, but i currently only have 2 maxijets and my main return pump. so i must complete the set!
current circulation in my tank: the overflow box is in the rear left of the tank and is about 8" wide. along the remaining 28" of the tank back along the bottom is a spray bar where my iwasaki returns the water from the sump, so there's strong current along the bottom back of the aquarium moving towards the front.
i have two maxijets at the rear-top of each end of the aquarium pointing at each other, so there are currently 3 current patterns in the tank: when the left maxijet is on by itself, water circulates in a clockwise pattern around the tank. counterclockwise when the right is on by itself, and semi-chaotic when both pumps are on.
where would the best place be in this scheme to add a third pump? i though about putting it about 12" down the front of the 8" wide return box and pointing to the front of the tank, since the bottom spray bar doesn't cover that area...
any suggestions appreciated!
