Tried to catch my mantis shrimp again. Only The mantis I caught was only 1 1/2" and purple. The one I was after was 3" and red.

Seems the big one is smarter than the hunter  . Perhaps I need a bigger trap.

Did you kill it? I know a few members are looking for some as pets. Including myself except I dont have a tank set up yet.

No, I did not kill it.

I have seen the posting of people wanting it. I just put it in my QT tank for now. It seems to like the frozen pawns!

I don't plan on keeping it. But, I thought I would worry about catching the other one first.

Most will tell you that they are pests but I think they are cool! I've wanted one for awhile, to be kept in a seperate tank. Right now my project is my 200g and after that we'll see

I caught my second mantis. He is yours if you want him. He is 1 1/4" long and reddish-orange. I may have another one.

After my mandirn, twin-stopped hogfish, and lawnmower benny disppeared I had enough of my groupers. So, I removed ~100 lbs of my rock out of my tank.

I never saw the mantis shrimp as I inspect the rock. I did find my twin-spotted hogfish in one of the rocks. So, the groupers did not eat him. Then I thought about my overflows. Found the mandirn and the benny in the overflows. Oh well, I still need to get the groupers out before they killed anything.

After I was done, I discover the mantis shrimp in the containeer I had set the rock in.

The next day found a hermit crab remains in my tank on the very top of the reef. Another killer is still in my tank.
