QT question

Once a QT tank is emptied, are you suppose to drain it and clean it. Once setup again, are you suppose to put live stock in to cycle?

I will empty and clean my QT between fish.

You do not need to cycle a QT - the trick is to use mature filter media. Many will keep some extra filter media in their sump or hidden in their show tank so they can readily set up a quick Qt and be ready to go.

In a pinch you can use a portion of the mature media from your show tank and combine it with new filter media in your QT. It will only take a few days for the mature media to properly seed the new filter media.
