Berlin Method for a 70g

howdy,

just wondering if a berlin method filtration system "live rock/sand and a protein skimmer" will suffice for a 70 g reef tank with normal stocking levels of fish or is mechanical filtration such as a wet/dry trickle filter neccessary?

Live rock/sand and a protein skimmer will be great for a 70 - I actually run my 240 gallon system that way.

Wet dry/trickle filters have really fallen out of favor for reef systems because they seem to allow nitrates to build up.
