I came home from work today to find my green star all closed up. It has been in the tank since saturday and has not closed up since then. Below are pictures of it yesterday and today. Water parameters are Ph 8.2 Dkh 9.7 Cal 430 and 0.0 on amonia nitrates and nitrites (SP)

notice the small green star in the backround is open. Any ideas or am I just a worried newbie? Thnaks for the help.

Not sure about the coating over the polyp matrix, could be a microalgal bloom, cyano, diatoms. However, I'm wondering if the polyps have closed up because the lighting may be too bright, or if something's picking at them or otherwise irritating. You might try shading it a bit, or an adjustment of flow (random turbulent).
