About how long does it take for a tank to become mature and how do you know its mature?

could you give a definitive answer for how long it takes a human to mature?

that said i will throw my opinion in the bag and state that a tank over a year is mature and it is seen by the lack of problematic algae blooms and a stability in water chemistry.

more specific.... change is not so abundant within the tank.. there is coral growth but there is not hitchhiker species thriving and then dying.

Pod man & The Lord are right on the money with the 1 year thing and noticing when the algae blooms are over and your water parameters are stabilized. It has been 11 months on my 110 gallon and Im just "stable" now and my water level's are not all over the place!I hope this help's..

Oh yeah...a year sounds good although its been 30 for me and no hope in sight. A year for a tank is conservative enough.
