I'm trying to plan my first sump.Can anyone give some advice on placement of the baffles?Here is my plan. 55gal main tank that will have two 1 1/2 bulkheads,20(long) tank for sump,Aqua c UV120 stand alone skimmer and a mag 9 return pump.Any suggestions on baffle placement and or simple sump ideas.

I have a 55 gal with a 20 high for a sump, I have to have at least 3 separate baffles in order to keep bubbles from getting shot back into the main.
I have one baffle just before the return line and 2 right after the drains with some live rock in the middle

If you plan ahead, and look at a lot of other people's designs and ask a ton of questions in advance you should be fine.
My sump works great with a low amount of flow. The only problem I have is that I am trying to shove 12 gallons a minute through it. Because of that I have troubles with micro bubbles and noise.
Look in the diy forum, it may take some time but there are good pics of good sumps in there. Also search for a thread by Tgallo, he has like the most awesome sump there is.

You need to decide if you are going to have a refugium part in your sump, I was going to in mine, but with all the flow I am pushing its impossible.

You want to install a triple baffle after your skimmer, with each baffle at least 1" apart. The outer baffles are placed on the floor of the sump, and the middle baffle is lifted 1.5" tall.
With the skimmer you are using, the baffles must be 9" tall or less.
If you want to limit the amount of micro bubbles entering the sump in the first place, you can create a PVC bubble stopper that has to be mounted in a way where it is level with the water's surface in the skimmer section. I would put it on the end of the sump so that the skimmer is in its way, to slow the bubbles path to the bubble trap. Here's a sketch:
