I have a 90 gallon setup (waiting for the builder to finish the wall that I am going to put it in). I paid for 35 lbs of LR from the LFS I bought the setup from. I can pick it up whenever I'm ready. Is it okay to put in the 35 lbs and cycle (possibly adding critters later) and then add more LR later? Or should I wait until I can get all 90 or so lbs at once. Will the die off of rock added later affect the life already in the tank and on the existing rock?

Thanks,
Robb

I'll second that. Get all the rock you want to have in the tank and then aquascape things the way you want them. Then leave things alone for at least a month while your tank cycles and builds up a good pod population.

I would suggest putting all of the rock in at first. If you decide not to you can add the rest later "IF" you cure it in a seperate container before adding it to you tank. This would require extra equipment. Another option would be to add dry base rock later. It can be added directly to the tank but does not have anythind benifical when first added.
