The AC in my house went out while at work today, and when I got home the tank was over 90 degrees. I lost about a gallon from evap so SPG was high (1.025+ to my usual 10.23) Thus far I have dropped the temp to about 86 with gradual top-off water from chilled distilled water.

My peppermint shrimp is acting funny and my mushrooms are shrivled (seem to be spreading back out slowly) and one has it "Guts" hanging out of its oral whatchamacallit (also slowly receeding back in) both fish seem ok, but are hiding in the rock.

Should I expect a sizeable (for my setup anywhoo) die off because of the swing in salinity and temp? Should I do a drastic water change?

Everything was going so well too!

Yup it's happened to me a few times where temps in the tank went up over 100F.
Your lucky you didn't lose power too.
Do you have fans on the tank?
Anyway continue to do water changes and remove anything that looks like it may be dead. You might have a small algae bloom but most things should recover.

I managed to get the temp down last night. I gradually added chilled top-off water until salinity was right and then let the fans cool it the rest of the way. Today, I left the tank open with a fan blowing across the top to try to keep it cool. It looks like all the corals survived, but I lost one snail (dunno if it was just it's time to go or if it overheated.) I will do a 50% water change this evening.

Thanks for the advice
