lights for my 45gal

i am debating on getting a system with either 4x96 watt or 4x55 watts. what would the trade offs be in coral i could keep, temperature difference etc. I would prefere to get the cheaper set, but if there is a huge difference I will opt for the higher wattage.

4x96 will allow you to keep anything you desire, including SPS and clams on the sandbed. 4x55 will let you keep all softies and LPS and some SPS (may have to be positioned higher and in the middle ..... same with clams). The heat is proportional so the 96 will be about 40% hotter. Fans will do a great job at cooling either.
