After all the cycling, and algae blooms, and harrasment from my wife who has less patience waiting for the tank to look nice than I do, I finally got a good comment from her with the addition of Pachyclavularia violacea to the tank. She griped while it was aclimating and really griped when it went in the tank, but when it finally opened up about 3 hours later, she loved it! Now I can really feel like I have made a successful start, and she is actually interested in going to look for the last coral that I will add to my tank sometime next month. On top of that, I think my fish budget is bigger, and SHE is actually excited about getting the 120 gallon display tank I am planning, and my budget for it just got bigger too.
The waters clear, the diatomes have died away, the chemistry is good, and the critters are happy and eating well. Who could ask for more?
I want to give a great-big thank you to all the folks that post to this particular Forum, without which I never would have been able to make it happen (specifically gaining my wifes interest in aquaria) so fast. The information, and pointers have been invaluable. Thanks tons. I hope as I gain more experience, I can give some back.
Thanks,
Alfred
