Best Filtration For a 46?

I am setting up a new 46 gallon bow. It is going to be my first reef tank, i have plenty of experience with fish only saltwater tanks. I am planning on having a 10 gallon refugium and a Fluval 304 Canister filter in the way of filtration. Is this good enough to keep the tank clear and healthy? Please post your opinion.

For a reef, most of us favor the use of live rock and protein skimmers over something like a canister filter. Some also like to run carbon periodically, or even continuously, in addition to the skimming and the natural filtration of the rock/sand.

If you are going to do a reef. Go with live rock maybe 35-60 pounds depending on what you like as far as looks and how dense the rock is. And a goo skimmer, I recommend a AquaC Remora. The will be all the filtration you will need. Though you could use the Fluval for Carbon

Get the AquaC Remora, i've got one on my 46 bow, excellent, quiet skimmer, you should have seen the crap it pulled out when i was curing my LR in there.
If you get the surface skimmer attachment you can put carbon under the skimmer return.

A couple of maxijet powerheads and you'll be set

I like the remover too. I would alos suggest that you look into adding a sump. You could have your fuge and dimmer and all that other stuff out of sight and all in one general location.
