Hi

I am refinishing my floor this weekend and there is no way I can move my tank. It has to stay where it is while I sand and varnish around it.

Here is my plan

1. Turn off main return pump and skimmer (both in sump)
2. Move heater up to main tank
3. Seal around sump cabinent with plastic so that no dust enters it.
4. Take off Metal halides and tank cover.
5. Seal Top of tank with plastic.

Now, the main tank has a Magnum HOT Filter on the back which I use purely for circulation. That will be left running along with the heater.

How long can I leave it with it sealed up like that?? I am going to be sanding for at least 5-6 hours if it all goes well. The main thing I am worried about is the fact that there will be very little oxygen exchange going on with the top covered with plastic.

I am also going to be using Minwax Polyureathane on the floor. Do I need to cover the tank while using that? Will the fumes hurt anything?

I have some finger leather, some shrooms, some small fish (wrasses, gobies), and a huge brittle star.

Any things I have left out? Any suggestions

Thanks

Bryan
