i often hear that garlic can be feed to fishes for a quick immue system boost and it that they find it irresistable.. my question is do we feed it to them cooked/uncooked and if so how ie roast, boiled etc? and do we insert the garlic into the food ie mysis shrimp or do we feed it to them on its own?

cheers :D

Most of the evidence to support the idea that garlic helps fish in any number of ways is quite anecdotal. In other words, it is probably the case that feeding garlic makes the person feel like they are helping, but prolly provides no actual help.
Most feed fish food soaked in garlic oil, although some say they feed cloves raw.
I tried it a few times, saw not health effects and saw no change in the excitement of the fish.

I sometimes soak flake in garlic before feeding and it doesn't seem to affect my fish very much one way or the other. However, it drives my shrimp nuts when I do it  .

I have wondered the same thing. I feed fish in my 55 gallon FOWLR tank pellets and flakes from Ocean Nutrition. Both Formula One and Formula Two Marine Pellets very clearly state on the label that the pellets contain GARLIC. They are the 9th and 11th ingredients listed on the label. The fish love the food and seem very happy with it. Don't think I will sprinkle it over the next batch of garlic bread I make though. :D

I love garlic on my fish. MMM MMM good.
Just kidding. I tried the garlic method, but saw no noticeable differance.

It looks like the Crypt has found its way back into my tank on a new live rock. At first I thought it was just jellyfish stings because they were hatching from this new addition and my puffer couldn't help not swimming into them. But now that the jellies are gone, the white spots remain and Chim (Chimichanga) seems to have that itch that he just can't scratch. So, I'm about to do the hyposalinity treatment and I thought I'd try a little Garlic. I soaked his food in water and garlic slices. 30 minutes after he ate, he had a case of projectile vomiting and the other fish jacked him of his breakfast. For what it's worth, garlic didn't sit well with my Diodon Holocanthus.

A couple of drops of garlic assures that it's gone the next day.

Are the drops you are using a formula? Or do you use fresh drops from a garlic clove? Do you think garlic has an effect on the beneficial bacteria?

Does anyone know how many ML to use with the Red Sea ALk test vile?
Thanks.
