Usually live rock (LR) is sold in 45 lb boxes.
For just 20 lbs you may want to hand pick pieces at your local store, or maybe buy off another hobbyist in your area.

Try premiumaquatics.com I buy all my live and dry goods online from them. They have great live rock, and they'll pick out the sizes/shapes that you want.

About the link in you sig line Cenzoslammer, nice video!

For that little amount of rock I'd go local fish store or look around for hobbyists near you willing to sell.

You are probably going to be better off at your LFS for a smaller amount. Shipping is going to kill you. Plus LR from your LFS is usually cured already.

Well, I haven't ordered any from online <yet>, but this http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod ... pCatId=397
seems to be the best "deal" I can find.

The LFS here wants $11 per # and thats just too much. Cured or not. $11 vrs $2. But honestly... I haven't stacked 'em up side by side to see which one can dance better.

Be sure and factor in to your thoughts the cost of shipping, and the additional time waiting for the shipped rock to die off and stabilize.

I ordered live rock from liveaquaria.com and it was my biggest mistake. I would be willing to pay 3x the cost to hand pick nice pieces that I don't have to scrub for hours to get all the dead crap off. plus the horrible shapes and sizes. for a small tank like you have it is way worth it to hand pick nice pieces of live rock. you'd probably end up with one really large piece and one really small pieces to make the weight.

Ok.. well factoring in shipping costs and elbow grease for the scrubbin time. I still think that online seems more appealing. I don't know but I have a 75 gal and from what I've read, I should plan on at least 90#.

LFS= $1080

liveaquaria= $320 shipped

here is another thread I found on the subject
http://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/showthr ... did=140920

I'm just thinking of all the other things I could buy with that $700.

I WOULD just buy a few nice pieces and then some base rock but the LFS wants $8 per # for that!!

Man all this trouble on the front end of this new hobby, I'm ready to bail and go back to making music!!! sheesh :?

I used to go to Harbor Aquatics and pick out the pieces I wanted. I miss that place, and Joy, too.
