I think I would use the Remora with the maxi-jet. The Remora pro is 21.5" and the Remora is 17.5". If you use either of these know that they would hang down past the tank. Great skimmers though. Very quiet.

I second Magilla...Remora pro is probably a better unit while the Bak Pak 2R is a little cheaper but very effective...I believe you'll get your money's worth out of either..And this is assuming you want a HOB skimmer...

the remora pro is a very good skimmer, if price is a factor try an excalibur, they are quite nice for a small skimmer and very well priced

I use the AquaC Remora with a MJ1200. Will run about $150 most anywhere you look. Great skimmer though. Very quiet.. does a good sludge sucking job.

If you are keeping softies and a couple of fish, a Remora will work fine. If you want even better water quality for stony corals, a sump with a EuroReef ES5-2 would be better. For the ultimate in hang on skimming, a Deltec MCE600 would be the ticket, awesome skimming power, but it's not cheap because of the beating the US dollar is taking overseas at $446.00. Aqua Medic makes a good skimmer also, the Turboflotor. It's often overlooked, a bit bulky, but a good inexpensive skimmer, with a needlewheel design.
