After having changed 10% of the water for 3 times, the algae bloom is now, I think, controlled. The LR has almost no algae anymore. Thing is the tank glass and the coral sand are still full of it. What's is the best way of cleaning the glass without damaging it? And the coral sand? How do I clean it?
On the other hand, should I turn on the lights again or it would only make the almost gone algae come back again?

Do you have crushed coral substrate? If so i'd consider dumping it. It's a detritus trap unless you clean it oftem. Plus sand is better for the filterting aspects. In a reef your LR and sand are the filters, as well as a kickin skimmer.

Is your glass really glass? If so you can get one of those scraper things that look like a razor blade with a handle and scrape away. You can even get corraline that way (it takes some effort though). If it is plexiglass, you have to be careful not to scratch it so your implements must be chosen with care.

Obviously you can't go on forever with your lights out, the algae isn't controlled until you can run them without fear.
