Hatian and Condy anenomes........

Are these anenomes as worthless(sorry if you have one) as all the Internet stores say they are?

The descriptions always say that they are best suited for a reef style tank but is not reccomended to keep in a full reef. I by no means have a full reef yet but I assume they must move more than a LTA or a BTA?

They usually state that there is no clown that normally hosts in these anenomes and most go with out hosts in captivity. I have 3 Clarkii's and I was hoping to find them a home.

The reason I ask these questions is because I have done some business with an ebay seller that sells Hatians for $4.50 each and Condy's for $10. I was hoping to buy about 4 hatians or a couple on condys for that price and I can still make shipping worth it. I dont have any worries about him as a seller because he has hooked me up with some stuff already and they all arrived alive and early.

If you could answer some of my questions it would be greatly appreciated and I hope some of you throw in you horror or happy stories about such anenomes.

They make very cool species tanks. You can introduce the Atlantic anemone shrimp and crabs. I think they tend to move a good bit - I have heard of clowns in condys but I have never seen it.

Ditto on the movement. Mine never hosted any clowns though. But they are cheap to purchase. I think I got mine for 8 bucks at an LFS when I first started this hobby.

Um. Haitians and condys come from the atlantic. Clowns come from the pacific/indian. Since neither one evolved near the other, they have no 'history' if you want to call it that. I think it's a bad idea. Especially since google has several pictures of condys eating clowns titled "My anemone ate my clown!!!!"

well Clarks clowns will host to Condys...Clarks will pretty much host to anything...A. Clakii holds the record with hosting to the most anemones in the wild..an adaptation thing probably..However in the wild, Clarks arent subjected to Condys but will still host in them...I had a Condy and my Clarks readily hosted in it...The only anemone i havent seen mine host to, is the carribean flower anemone....
